Why do women seem to need friends more then men? Or do they?

not really, actually, in my point of view, men and women are just the same in this field, for how you need a friend is the same women need one too.. case to case basis, there are women who loves to hang out with their friends shopping together, cooking together, while men loves drinking together with their buddies, staying out... so i don't think there's a difference from men to women having a friend/friends..

We studied this in my last psychology class and it was found that women are generally more open to creating lasting relationships with other people than men. Most women are naturally geared towards making friends and reach out for help easier and quicker than men. Society plays a role in this as well; the whole "I'm a man and don't need anyone" thing, seems to get in the way for some men and makes getting close to people or other men a little harder for them. I have a group of about 10 friends that I would call my other family. My one brother only has about three or four close friends that fit that bill. There are always exceptions to the rule, though, in the case of men and women.
