do you know anyone who has died from taking the drug methadone??

my friends cousin died of this although he was injected with it by somebody else,the needle was inserted in such a position that he could not have done it himself

I am sorry for your loss. There was probably something laced with the rest of the ingredients that his body would not handle. Once again I am sorry for your loss.

One of my kids friends used it one night and never woke up. He was found a few days later when was reported missing. It was determined that it was an overdose of methadone. He got the drug on the streets and had been using it for some time.

My wife has been in pain for years and found that the methadone worked very well for her pain but carried with it some unwanted side-effects.
I guess it is the side-effects that these people are looking for when they use the drug. We keep it under lock and key here. We worried about it when she was first prescribed it for her pain, but it became an issue when we heard of my kids friends overdose and death.

Its a synthetic drug originally manufactured for the withdrawal of heroin, but it was found to work well in chronic pain cases also. I'm sorry you lost your brother. Despite the apparent indications to the contary, Methadone is still a dangerous drug. Basically an opitae without a high.

ironic that when first made heroin was thought to be a good treatment for opium addiction. till they realised that it was more addictive than the opium and long term use has found methadone to also have problems
