OK, this may seem like a silly question. But I want to lose weight. And I have a big sweet tooth. Someone said they thought all of their teeth were sweet teeth, and that applies to me too! And I don't seem to have much will power. So how can I eat less sweets? What can I do to stop the cravings for them? Is there anything?

You eat more protein, like meat and cheese and eggs, and this will curb cravings.

That's interesting. My doctor told me I should be eating more protein. I will have to see how that works.

if you wanted to loss some weight i think you have to avoid sweets and salty food intake and as much as you can eat fruits than eating carbo foods

I learned in my nutrition class that one of the best ways to cut cravings is to eat lots of fiber. It is what makes you feel full. Hope this helps.

Hmmmm... I found that if you totally avoid your cravings... it gets worse. Your body craves because it needs something. I tend to crave chocolate a lot, so I made a rule. I could eat 1 DARK chocolate candy bar a day or I could have 1 pop a day. But I couldn't have both. Stay away from milk chocolate though... dark chocolate is better for you. It worked for me... I had lost all my baby weight plus some... lol then I got pregnant again... so I can't say how much I could continue to lose... but I lost at least 20 lbs on that diet. My daughter is 1 year old... and I am just short of 3 months pregnant... I weighed at LEAST 140 after I had my daughter... and weighed 120 when I got pregnant. Then I ONLY ate when I was hungry. Avoid grazing. Drink plenty of water. Good luck

Simply just don't buy them. If you have none around, then you can't eat them, can you??

Or have other foods like fruits or vegetables around to chew on when you start feeling the need

I agree with what has been said in a few of your responses. You cannot totally give up your sweets or you will be craving them so much that when you get around the sweets you will overindulge. We have to only eat a bite or two just to satisfy our cravings, but wait............I am so bad that I cannot stop at one or two bites but we have to learn to do this. I am sure eating more fruits will help with the cravings also. I will also try to eat more protein to see if that work for me. Thanks for this post and God bless!
