All good things take time. If you want to lose weight you need to be consistent ... drinking water alone will not do it if you fill yourself with calories and carbs that you don't need.

Stay away from cookies, cakes, pie, ice cream and the like and switch to fresh fruits and lots of veggies.

You don't say what kind of exercise you do or how often, but you need to be consistent and not stop because "nothing is happening."

I bike normally 20 miles per day. I stay pretty clear of sugars, lots of carbs and especially junk or fast foods, and I maintain my weight well. I drink LOADS of water and green tea, staying away from calorie-laden soft drinks. Diet soft drinks are OK, but water and green tea are better.

Don't get on the scale every day until you're at your goal. Do the scale routine once a week.

It will seem like it takes forever if you keep watching the scale or if you cheat.

i wasn't drinking water alone i replaced the cokes with water,should of been more clear about that.i exercised 20-30 minutes everymorning with weights and aerobics.
and the otherthing is i don't eat sweets i admit i love chips but don't eat a whole lot, but i do have my weaknesses like pizza,chips,fries and i also have my strengths i love salads yogurts,etc.

would this be healthy?
yogurt for breakfast,tuna on whole grain for lunch,and salad for dinner???

That would sound good for me, but I know my body. You might want to check with your doctor to see if such a diet would be good for you.

I would agree, it does seem like it takes forever. I have tried many things, from special diets, diet pills, counting calories, ect. But the only thing that really worked for me was eating very healthy and exercise 3 to 4 times a week. You have to focus on the small amounts that you lose, set small goals. Just keep working at it, and you will get where you want to be.

i know what you mean i wouldn't want to lose it that quick,but i would like to lose about 15-20 pounds.its all from having kids seems like the worse weight to get rid of.thanks for your response

they are all right if you really want to lose weight, you really have to wait and have patience...no pain no glory..:) and avoid those junk foods, sweets like cakes and ice creams..

don't eat sweets but sometimes i do have trouble getting motivated especially in the winter but anyother time i try my best

I have been on a roll now for 20 days-

I've lost 5 lbs so far....

This is what has been helping me...

....I make smoothies in the blender- juice, fruit, lots of ice and yogurt.
It fills me up till lunch time.

....I only eat 1/2 tuna salad sand on wheat for lunch

.... I make lots of veggies and eat some soup and rice and stuff like that, keeping my entire day of cal under 1500

Also...walk, walk, walk and do keep up with the water.

For extra support... I have done a "weightloss tarot reading" for the month... it helps to show me the weightloss challenges for the month and how to avoid them...

Silly maybe, but very accurate.
