I Just Know I Will Cry? My Son Is Starting School Today - Pic of Him

That's very hard Ellie, not letting you have a little time to see him after his first day. He'll be absolutely fine. It's you I'm worried about. I'm answering this from notifications so haven't seen the pic yet. But I bet he looks very smart.

He looks so smart!! I bet he has a great time at school! I haven't got any children of my own yet but i can remember my mum dropping me off for mine, she was crying her eyes out and all i wanted to do was go and play!! hehe i bet the morning will go quicker than you think! I still have the photo of my sons first day at school in the little flat we lived in in Abingdon, Oxon and I remember it fondly...in his school uniform to go down to the little nun in the St Josephs School.

I went through this 3 times, lol. It took some getting use to, then I found ways to fill my time until they all got to come home. I worked at home typing for people, doing resumes and other things. I ran errands and killed time in other ways, just doing what I needed to do while they were in school, then when they were home I had all my time with them.

I think I might have shed a tear or 2 on my son's first day of school, but I didn't let him see it. I was excited for him because I knew he would think it was fun at school. You can make your talk with him special in some way, while having dinner, or a snack or breakfast, or going for ice cream or something like that.

Know what it's like to be so busy. Life takes over and stuff's gotta get done. I understand what you are going through, Ellie. I am going to see the pic of your son now and will comment on it in the picture comments. Take care.

Hiya Ellie, I know how you feel. I think you know but I have four kids, I was fine when my second and third children started school but I remember when my eldest started, it was the worst day of my life! With it only being me and him we were very close and when he started full time school he was nearly 5 wheras now they start at 3 with nursery. I had no time to get used to the idea he was just in.

I remember taking him, I remember seeing them all lined up, I remember even now all his school mates, remember thinking how little they looked. I was gutted, but he was as happy as anything. I cannot believe that he is now nearly 17 and the next hurdle I will face is him leaving home. XxX

I can see in his smile that he is very ready and excited...I have no kids and when I was reading your post, I am trying to recall also my Mom during those time, Well, this is life dear and for sure, when you will see him learning a lot, you will be very happy, that is just for sure for the first few weeks! So, how did you do? My youngest started preschool 2 weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten over it. That's just 2 afternoons a week!

Your young man looks so handsome, and will do just fine. You will do fine, too. It takes a little adjustment in our way of thinking. Kids grow up...but they shouldn't be allowed to though.
