Ok I have a question for you all. How do I dry out a cell phone? Here is the problem. My daughter left her track phone in her pants pocket and I didnt realise it before I did the laundry. I went to take clothes out of the washer to put in the dryer and at the bottom of the washing machine I found her cell phone. I tried to turn it on and it did nothing. I, hoping it needed charged, plugged it in to her charger but so far its still not doing anything. I have heard about people who drop their phones in pools and toilets and have successfully dried them out and got them to work again. How do I do this? Have you ever accidently washed a cell phone? Have you ever accidentally dropped your cell phone in water? Did you successfully dry it out? How did you do it?

2. rony1masc (116) | 3 months ago | my 2 phone cause this problem. but not with washing machine, with my little nephew. he took my phone and licked it with his tongue. i have switched off the phone and remove the exernal casing and take the circuit board for a sun bath. i assembled it again and worked perfectly. next the same case with my other phone. but it was a rainy season. i cant place the circuit to dry out. but i have dryer which blow hot air. i blown hot air to the board and it starts working fine. if ur phone has an mp3 bluetooth support it might not working even after hot air treatment. try it........

3. peaceful (1832) | 3 months ago | Although I have a HUGE case of "Gadget Love" I'm not always kind to 'em, in fact I can be downright cruel... Once I even "accidently" kicked my cellphone into rush hour traffic!:) I have, however, saved a drowned cellphone that somehow wound up hooked to my fishing line and got itself cast into a pond while I was panfishing... I took it apart, and blew all of the water out of it with a hair dryer, and wiped the circuits down with no-lint cotton patches... I let it air dry for 24 hours, and then put it back together and re-charged it, and it worked! Good luck with your daughter's phone, at least she will know that Mommy cares, and she will probably give you a big hug... Or maybe not! Try a visit to EHow.com maybe they can help you... Have an excellent day,Zu!:)

4. challs12 (159) | 3 months ago | Actually water damage cellphone is very difficult to work again or to be repaired. If it can be repaired and work again as normal, it wont stand for a long time unless you dry it thoroughly. But the first step and caution you must consider are:- 1. Never switch on your cellphone after it drop into a water. 2. Never charge your cellphone. 3. Immediately remove the battery. If you can open your cellphone PCB board, use your hair dryer to dry the PCB board and other part thoroughly. This is because the water that stuck under the IC will make it short and will damage and it probably will cause your cellphone not functioning or have problem with some function. So, dry it for a very long time using your hair dryer to make sure all the water removed before you try to switch it on and check if it's still working. If it's not working or not working on some function, then I suggest you to sent it to the repair shop. Note that warranty not applicable for case of water damage and drop.

5. lingli_78 (8657) | 3 months ago | oh yes... i had done that so many times and they never survive... they are all dead after that and i have to get a new phone each time i did that... my friend told me not to ever switch on the phone straight away if you drop them in the water... open the phone, take out the battery and everything and left them to dry before you try to switch it on again... and it really works for her... if you try to switch it on straight away, it will be dead and no chance to use it again... take care and have a nice day...

7. blackmantra_x (2270) | 3 months ago | Good day.. Too bad but as you have said at least it was cleaned. Now, one can revived a soaked cellphone if it was wet in it's shut off state, one must not power it up or plugged it up but first remove the battery and dry the unit using a dryer. Dry it thoroughly and wait it out for two to three days before powering it on.

9. SaintAnne (1175) | 3 months ago | Boyfriend was doing laundry and accidentally included my jacket with my phone in it. I didn't know what was going on until I heard some unusual loud noise coming from the dryer. And that's when I realized what was going on. Anyway, I don't need to get into how I went berserk. But unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for that phone. Boyfriend took it to the cellphone guy to check it out as I was still very upset and cellphone guy looked at something in the back and there was a red dot and I guess that means it got way too wet or something. Fortunately I had my phone insured so I got a new phone with no extra charge. I'm still missing my old phone and what disappeared with it. Sigh! I hope your daughter's cell phone didn't go the way mine did.
