Decaf means it does not have caffeine. Regular coffee has a lot of caffeine in it. Decaf is better for your health, because caffeine is not good for you. It can cause you to have trouble sleeping and make you feel anxious and "hyper."

Decaf is coffee that has had the caffeine removed. It is debatable whether it is more healthy than regular coffee. Regular coffee does have caffeine which can give you and great energy boost, but let you down, tax your adrenal glands and cause some other health problems if used in excess.
Decaf, on the other hand doesn't have caffeine in it, but the caffeine is removed with a chemical process. No matter how carefully the chemical is removed after the process is completed, some remains behind. The FDA says it is within acceptable levels, but a build up of the chemical in the body over a long period of time could become as much a problem as the caffeine in the opinion of some natural health experts. So in other words, choose your poison.

hi soheklm decaf coffee is coffee with the caffeine removed hence the name decaf. so it doesnt keep you awake like regular coffee or have other bad effects on your body. for us diabetes we must not drink too much ordinary coffee as it raises blood glucose levels so decaf is a much better choice. It is easier on high blood pressure also so is a healthier choice.

i haven't abt DECAF in coffee before. but now after reading this discussion i learnt that decaf is coffee without caeffine. every one drink coffee because this caefinne makes them fresh. i dont how the coffee will taste and refresh us. i thank u for starting this discussion. i thank mylot too

Decaf or decaffeinated coffee contains no or little caffeine compared to regular coffee. It is advisable that one drink decaffeinated coffee. Whereas a cup of regular coffee may contain around 8.6 milligrams of caffeine, decaf coffee may contain around only 3 milligrams of caffeine.

I think that depends somewhat on what kind of coffee it is, and the process used in the decaffeination as it varies widely, and since the best coffee does not have nearly as much caffeine as the adulterated stuff, and also it is not just the caffeine that makes cheap coffee harmful. Decaf is just short for Decaffeinated. This means that through some process they have taken the caffeine out of the coffee. Its different than regular coffee because it doesn't keep you up. For those that aren't supposed to have a lot of caffeine in their diet, it is healthier. But I don't see the point in drinking coffee if it isn't for the "keep you up" aspect.
