Here is my tips....

Make sure that the responses you give are 5 lines big. Descriptive response will get more amount.

When starting a new discussion, make sure of the time and the place where you start. Start you discussions in the evenings(by 4 In India) where more people will be online and start it in interests which will have more responses (mylot,life, make more money).

Never start a general discussion.

Add more friends, everyone will look into what friends have started. This can increase the response.

Comment on the responses that others give for your discussion. This will also help to get more responses.
