What to feed my pug puppy?

I have never owned a pug but i fed my puppy Purina puppy chow,and she did well on that..now that she is older i do feed her some of our food but i always keep her dry dog food available if she wants to nibble some..Some puppies you can just keep dry food out all the time but others you have to have just special feeding times..depends on how much they eat..Good luck on your new puppy..

I don't own a pug either but if you are going to go with a raw diet you should also either supplement with vitamins or a very high quality dog food. The dogs need meat and vegetables both in their diet and its hard getting the balance just making it all yourself.

Before you set out to spoil your pup, keep in mind that if you start her life with chicken, she's bound to ignore the very food that's good for her. You could end up having a problem for the rest of her life. She'll become a sneaky eater.

If you feed her Science Diet ONLY, she won't be aware that chicken exists and she won't miss it.

Also, chicken wings have teeny-tiny bones that can splinter and pierce her esophagus or stomach and intestine linings. I'd caution against taking that chance.

If you want to give her a treat from time to time, give her a boiled marrow bone. She'll spend hours licking out every last bit of marrow; she'll chomp on the bone, which is too large to swallow, and that'll help to keep her teeth free of tartar.

She's not going to starve, but she might pretend to starve in order to get some pity. Don't fall for it. She'll be a happy pup and you'll be a happy pup owner.

Memo to self: Dogs are smart people. They'll try to con their human pets into giving them more than they NEED. Don't let the sad puppy eyes take you in. (C) 2008 RJScott

I have not idea as I haven't got dogs but I have two cats, maybe other Mylotters who have dogs can give you a few tips, enjoy your puppy I bet he looks just gorgous.good luck.

Awwwwwwwwwww a new addition to the family. How is Betty-Sue getting along now? I bet she's fun to have around. If your feeding her chicken, just make sure your not giving her the bones to eat. They can not only be a choking hazzard to her but also bad for her stomach/intestinal tract. I feed mainly dry food to my furbabies with the addition of either raw or cooked veggies/meat when I have leftovers.
