How to make a long distance relatinship work?

My husband is now based in the province and is able to come home to us one weekend in a month. He's been there for about a month and a half and it's really difficult. He bought me and our daughter a cellphone. We talk on the phone all the time an we text a lot. There's also email and chats galore.

i am really thankful that at least we are just in the same country and a short plane ride away.

yes, it is very possible to be loyal because if one is really committed then he/she will stay loyal.

I am in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend of 10 months. I live in the Philippines, we're both Filipino, but he works abroad. He has been working there even before we got together so the distance is something I have to endure. It's hard, most of the time. There are days when I just miss him terribly and vice versa. But our love for each other fuels us to endure th distance. Trust is a very important factor. Communication is very important as well. We always make sure we talk on the phone, send text messages to each other and chat through instant messages. We keep our communication lines open because we both know that it is one of the lifelines of our relationship.

For a relationship to be long lasting, both parties should have loyalty on their own. There still have to be a constant communication with them. Communication not just thru phone but also virtually like using a webcam to chat. Always give time to your partner so that each one will feel the importance of their relationship.

I don't think long distance relationship can't work.Maybe we can't talk throught the phone or we can send message,email.But I think the feeling will change after a long time,like 2 years.Before that,possibly we can still feel the love between each other throught the contact.But after we meet,we may feel the love feeling imaginable has changed

My boyfriend and I have been together for nine years. But physically together? Whew! Sum it up that would be like nine or 12 months maybe.

He has been working abroad even before I met him. The set up is like he has to work abroad and finish his two-year contract, then, stay here for 3 months every after two years. For nine years, we have kept our love burning. I trust and I know he has been loyal with me all those years (at least my hunch tells me and I trust my hunches, lol).

We chat everyday. I could see him and I could hear his voice for at least 6 hours everyday. Even at work I do chat with him (well, i wonder if my boss is mylotting...if she does, hope she won't read this! lol). Lucky me, I work as an online teacher so though I'm busy with my students, my boyfriend could watch me teach! And I could watch him do his thing when he's home.

We do chat on weekends too for as long as we can. Sometimes we talk over the net for more than ten hours if we're not busy, oh well, we prioritize chatting with each other among anything else. For some people this may sound boring. Some of my friends even ask me if I don't get sick and tired talking to him, well, not and never will be, guess their jealous because I choose to chat with my boyfriend instead of going out with them, lol.

My point, long distance relationship is never difficult for me and my boyfriend. Well, of course we do meet each other, at times we would cry because we could see each other but could not touch each other, but we just put in our minds that at least, somehow, we are together, through the computer screen, lol. And if it is never difficult for us, it won't be difficult for anyone who is in the same boat as we do. Just take advantage of the new technology that we have now. As the classic saying goes, if there's a will, there's a way.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, he does call me on the phone as well, and we send each other snail mails. We also send each other gifts and packages every three months!

Just imagine when he comes home!

Its not easy when you are away from your partner, but if the foundations of your relationship are strong (trust, love, respect, loyalty, faith) then distance does not matter. Both partners should make extra efforts to make up for the distance in other ways.
