Does Percocet really work?  | |  I recently had surgery and am now taking the drug. However, the drug does not take away all the pain. In fact, it takes off a very small part of the edge of the pain. Now, I am having some severe pain, but a simple motrin pill knocked out my pain for over an hour. Motrin is something I can get over the counter. Are doctors just quick to prescribe these strong drugs, with such strong side effects as percocet?
