you can also promote your site by joining Technorati. Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs.

participating to traffic exchanges is also a way to increase your blog's traffic but it will not advisable to join and use their services if you are enrolled in Google Adsense program because it is against their TOS.

i have a blog too, to promote my blog i tell all of my friend (using e-mail by putting information in the signature, using messenger like Yahoo), google is the best, and also join blog search engine too. I'm sure you will have a lot of visitor:) good luck.
