 I was looking for some information to back up a response I made to another discussion and came across these really interesting facts regarding how much of certain things an average person will consume or do with an average lifespan of 78 years or so. I found it so interesting I thought I would share some of the statements. Did you ever realize that these things added up to so much? It's astounding really.
Here are some examples:
- Eat 8.2 Kilos of chocolate a year, and around 10,000 bars in our life time.
- Will use 4239 rolls of toilet paper. To clean up 3 Tons of waste.
- 656 bars of soap.
- 198 bottles of shampoo.
- 10 351 pints of beer.
- 1694 bottles of wine.
- Consume 13 345 eggs
- 15 951 pints of milk.
- Will read 2,455 newspapers and the equivilant of 24 trees worth of paper!
- Will have the chance to vote in 50 elections of some sort.
And there are many more but I think for the sake of post length I will stop here for now. Are you as suprised at this as I am? We just never really look at things this way.....

There are more references but I kept it to a minimum for the sake of ensuring the length was not too scary! Thanks for responding and here are some others that are more along the lines of what you have mentioned:
- We will produce 40 tonnes of waste in one life time.
- On average own 8 cars each.
- In a car we will travel the equivalent distance of a trip to the moon and back.
- That’s a total of 135,950 litres of petrol.
- Watch 148 minutes of TV a day. That’s 900 hours a year or 8 years!
- Throw away 8.5 tonnes of wrapping.
