Are you a poet?

I used to be the editor for a small press poetry magazine, and I have had some of my own poems published in small press anthologies. I don't really have time for creative writing now, as I am busy writing informational and instructional articles for web content.

I was never very productive as a poet. I limited my output to a few special ones which had a personal meaning for me. I may start to write poetry again one day but I remain pleased with my small achievements.

It's good to know that your enthusiasm has been sparked by that site. I will have a look at it, but I don't want to be too tempted just now, as I have so much other writing to do!

I am more of a 'dittist' . I mean like I write ditties really. Does it not surprise you that I don't write, what I would call, proper poetry but more light hearted sort of stuff There has usually been an occassion like a short 'poem' for someone's birthday card or something like that!

No, I am not a poet at all. I do write articles and reviews. But, poetry is one sector I am not good at all. I like reading poetries some times. That's about it.

Well, I knew it would be a good day to come here!! First of all, I love poetry and am very excited for you about your publications. I Am definitely going to look up allpoetry. Sounds like what I've been looking for. I've always wanted to try and publish a few of my pieces. That chance may be closer than I think. As for my poetry; I started writing when I was a freshman in highschool. The very first poem I wrote came out of nowhere. I was mad at my friend and I needed a way to express it. It came out as a poem and my writing just took off from there. Alot of them I feel are very childish but I do have a few that I don't mind sharing. Most of my writing is about friendship and love. Later, some were about my children and I have a few that were written about God. When I was younger, I loved writing short stories. Writing is just something I love to do. I'm so glad I found this post. By the way, I was reading some of the responses and for the second time today, the gamesite, king.com was mentioned. I hadn't heard of it before but it sounds like fun!

i love writing poetry especially in our language. I can express myself better. Most of my english poems, I posted in my blog so I will not lose it. Some of my earlier poems were lost.

There re times when I can write 3 poems in a day but there are times when I can not write even a single verse. Mainly, it is what I felt that drove me to write poems.

I do write poems, I supposed that count me as a poet. I don’t join poetry contests as I don’t find myself good at writing poems. I read some poems in the sight and all are nice piece of works compare to mine. I’m a little shy to show my works to others but I’m working to improve my being a poet. I also write web contentment articles in triond and other site.
