Girls! When you have your period... |
|
or if it's about to come, do you feel fatigued or moody? I usually feel moody and a bit fatigued when my period is about to come. Sometimes that sign reminds me that my period is coming. I do try to control myself not to get irritated easily, thinking it's only hormonal imbalance in my body.=P How about you? Please share.=)

1. potrish78 (397) | 3 months ago | Moody yes, fatigue I'm not sure, lazy yes. When I'm expecting my period, the week prior to that would be a total mess. I could hardly control my emotions and if early on I noticed that It's a sign that I'm gonna have my period, I tend to mellow and control my temper. But I know it' very difficult. I even read one article about women having menstruation and the boyfriends were advised to stay away. lol. For the very reason that not even the owner of the body can control the rise and fall of her hormones.

nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Hi potrish! Yea, I feel lazy when it's about to come, too. But I always try to control my emotions.=) I know what you mean. Sometimes you get irritated in simple things. You know you shouldn't but it's hard to control. Grrr. I hate being controlled by emotions so much. Do you always succeed in controlling your emotions? That's a funny article, by the way. haha. I don't want my boyfriend to stay away from me. I guess I needed him more in times like that.=P

potrish78 (397) | 3 months ago | Sometimes when I give in to my emotions and accidentally loose my temper, I immediately realize that it wasn't me; rather the moodswings caused by the change of hormones. So I tell whoever received my outburst that I was having a pre-menstrual syndrome. Sounds like a good excuse huh? lol... So far I'm successful in controlling my temper.
| |
|
|
nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Haha! Good excuse indeed. I tend to use that excuse, too. You're so right. It's because something causes us to be like that and I think the idea of controlling our emotions is a good one. Knowing we must control ourselves is a good start.=)

7. maigzen (577) | 3 months ago | Oh! I do have the same problem (til my boyfriend got used to it). lol It's like a week before my period, from a sweet friend and girlfriend, I would turn into a monster. lol. Good thing, the people around me had learned to understand it, most especially my boyfriend. We used to fall into a big fight a week before my period, but now, if I turn a bit nasty on him, he would be the first to remind me that I'm gonna have my period soon. Well, for women having this kind of problem, don't let it eat you and the relationship you have with the people around, it may sound as an excuse, but well, it has some scientific explanation anyway, so go and don't be afraid to explain them the reason behind those mood swings and the like. My boyfriend and I almost ended into breaking up, so don't let it happen to you, go and tell him why, for sure he would understand.

|
nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Haha. Hi maigzen! I did told him and it's good that he understood me somehow.=)) We didn't reached the point of breaking up, but my mood always shaken our healthy relaitonship.=P Yes, I totally agree. It has something to do with homrones but we, too, can mend ourselves so that our emotions won't get worse. Thanks for your share!=)

| 8. AnnieVenter (2) | 3 months ago | My first sign is a pimple on my face. After this I start to sneeze (which only happens when I am going to menstruate)and I fart more than usual. The sneezing and farting does not work well together, because I also get mild gastro when I menstruate. Then again, I need to fart when I get the urge, because I fear a heart attack if I don't, and the pains on my chest increase to massive proportions. Many a day I sit on the edge of the seat with this painful expression on my face, my cheeks sucked in and my stomach pulled tight, to try and control the situation. I get sweaty palms and start to hyper ventilate and it becomes a very uncomfortable and painful trip. The real problem is however, that I have had situations where I gave in to the urge (very secretively) and ended up with more than I bargained for! And to make it worse, it seems that when the sneezing start, my bladder also seem to get a "cold". There is no pain, but just the embarrassment of stress incontinence. This is a serious problem, as I spend 2 hours per day on the train! I also start to fall asleep on the train - which I NEVER do otherwise, because I tend to snore. I cannot stop it though, as my eyes start to squint, and sometimes I even start to snore without actually sleeping! I get a very dull heavy headache, a thin pain over my kidneys and some funny pains over my chest region. I become very much like a close relative of confucious, and I tend to become EMOTIONAL which causes me to overreact. But I will not call it moody. I just feel utterly sick and costantly in fear of embarrassment. Mostly I become forgetful, and a few times I had to turn back home to collect my false teeth after only realising their absence when my gums start to feel the cold! So I am wondering if I am ALLERGIC to my hormones, or if I am just getting old?

nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Hi annie! Wow, do you think those are all PMS? Do you feel that every time your menstrual period is about to come? That's really strange. It seems like there's something wrong with your tummy. Maybe you are just having a gastro and a cold together, while at the same time you're having your period. hmm. What do you think? Take care. THanks for your share.

| AnnieVenter (2) | 3 months ago | I have been getting these symptoms for a few years now. I must say that the chest pains, bladder problems and sneezing were not there from the start, but the rest - I am sorry to say - has been my sign and symptoms and believe me I will be glad to see them go!

nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Oh I see. Sorry to hear that. Hmm, you having an allergy also came to my mind. And also the old age thing. But I think it's better to consult your doctor to know what the real problem is.=) Take care...

Anyway I don't observe my attitude or something if ever i have my period. I think nothing differs even i have or not.

nrtan2000 (209) | 3 months ago | Hi fleriszy! The signs we experience varies. You know, I have a friend who's like you. She is always absent during her first day of menstrual period because of abdominal pains and it makes her weak. Hmm. So what do you do when you're having that? Do you sleep? Hmm I think that's the best thing to do. Just rest. She also takes mefenamic acid to relieve the pain. Thanks for your response!=)
