Today's Scripture
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Have you thought much about what you are wearing today? You probably took time this morning to select the right clothes and shoes in the natural, but have you thought about what are you wearing spiritually and emotionally? Just like wearing a coat, we can take off wrong attitudes, emotional heaviness, guilt and shame. We can exchange our garments of sin and failure for His garments of salvation and righteousness. Notice that this verse doesn’t say you have to make the robe of righteousness before you put it on. It doesn’t say you have to work really hard in order to earn righteousness. No, it’s His righteousness that He gives as a gift to us when we accept what Jesus did for us.
If you are wearing heaviness, guilt, condemnation or shame today, receive His forgiveness and allow Him to cleanse you and clothe you with His garments of salvation and His robe of righteousness. Today is a new day, and you can have a new beginning by simply opening your heart to Him.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus. I open my heart to You and receive all You have for me. I choose to take off my old garments of sin and failure so I can be clothed in Your righteousness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

| | 2.  islander7 (2705) | 3 months ago |  It appears to me that christianity is a "get out" religion. Do as many bad things as you like for you can go and get "saved" sometime in the future and all your misdeeds forgiven. This has obviouly been the attraction of the religion through the years.
Personally i can see some basic truth in all religion but no one religion has a momopoly of the truth. There are thousands of religions. When the truth is universal you can depend on it, only then. Meditation is the key to a truly spiritual life. Peace.

| | 3.  SueRod (223) | 2 months ago |  Isn't it so fascinating that only the Lord has righteousness. We don't earn points with God by doing things in order to gain heavenly reward. It's just a matter of our perspective. He alone is righteous and we accept it as His children because it is a Gift He offers each of us. We do good in order to thank Him for the Grace of salvation which Jesus' died for us as it is a free Gift. When we live by the commandments, and live a good and holy life, we will be filled with gratitude and not be concerned about what to wear, to coin another scriptural phrase. Thank you, Lord Jesus for dieing for me on the cross and for the Gift of salvation, I give all praise to God the Father, to the Lord Jesus, and to the Holy Spirit of God. Thank you, Jesus.
