Confused about Adsense  |

 I have started a blog at the following address
http://www.labancarelladiaisling.blogspot.com
and I have decided to add Adsense on it... but so far i made nothing, not even 1 little cent out of it... I was wondering if maybe I am doing something wrong or if i just have to wait...anyone using it here who can explain to me please how it works? thank you very much in advance!

1.  iakulchen (249) | 3 months ago |  If you have just started, it's likely your blog won't have much traffic yet, as you have not built up your blog's Page Rank, backlinks, and other things, so you aren't likely to expect to earn anything for now.
Adsense either displays ads that pay per click or ads that are pay per view. And no, you don't get to choose them. Google decides which ones it displays based on your blog content.
The one's on your blog are probably pay per click and so you aren't getting anything yet because no one has clicked on them.

There are some factors that the search engines take into account when it calculates how much value a backlink is, but I won't go into detail here. Sufficient to say that getting backlinks on the right sites will improve your blog traffic and search engine rankings. | |

2.  pyewacket (8779) | 3 months ago |  Okay I did a quick check at your blog.....you don't seem to have any of the Google ads on your blog...the idea behind Adsense is that you supposedly make money on the Google ads that people can click on that are advertised on your blog...To get the ads on your blog you have to do some "editing" on the blog itself...Go to your main page when you sign in...you should see a "Layout"--click on that and it will take you to the page where you can edit or add stuff..then click 'add a gadget'...that will open to a little dialog box..scroll down until you see "adsense" and click the "+" sign..it will then open to another box where you'll see the adsense addition...you can customize it if you want..then click save ..then click the main SAVE button in orange and viola when you view your blog...the Google ads will (or should appear)...Hope I explained this okay..LOL

As another thing....don't expect to make oodles of money from Adsense....It really does depend on people clicking on those ads to make money....I've had blogs awhile and the Adsense ads and haven't made much. I've heard a lot about how to get "traffic" to one's blogs....that's the key...to get A LOT of people looking at your blog and the potential of them clicking on the ads...need to look into it myself | |

There will be a minimum number of hits required before payout of course. You need to advertise your blog too. There are various ways of doing that. You've just done one of them!! LOL. Entrecard community can be a good blogging community but you have to be patient to drop and read other blogs. Why don't you try. It will not increase your traffic tremendously but at least you will have visitors. Adsense is a slow but sure source of income.Good luck.
