How will you react if your teenage daughter get pregnant???

My parents were understanding when my sister got pregnant at 15. She got married and had another baby by the time she was 16. That sucked to see her go through hell and so far because of the horrible story behind it, all of my parents' grandkids are abstinent. I am hoping that my girls stay virgins until they are 50 but if it happens I will have to accept it. I don't want them to end up like my sister, or to struggle like I did when I started having kids in college. I guess I would have to suck it up and be a grandma.

I really hope and pray that if I have a daughter, she will abstain until she is married. I realize this concept is lost on most people these days, but I have to say that my husband and I both waited until our wedding night...that's always been something that was really important to us. If she were to get pregnant, we would of course be supportive. I think the worst thing a partent could do is make her feel like a worthless person, and kick her out of the house! She obviously needs love, and help! I will love my children no matter what they become.

Oh I am so praying this will never happen to my daughter because it never happened to me. I never gave this headache to my parents. I got married it my mid 20s and had my child at 28.

Well, let's say I'm in this situation already, I'd feel hurt, disappointe and of course mad at first. Then i'd try to put myself in my daughter's shoes and realize how scared she is. I'm sure, I'd support her anyway. The baby is still a blessing to the family and had nothing to do with her/his parent's mistakes.I would also talk to the parents of the guy. i will not ask them to get married because it is not a solution. I've seen it happen to my cousins. getting married was a bigger mistake.

The situation is there so the best next thing to do is to face it. She will still be my daughter no matter what and the baby inside her will still be my grandchild. So there.

it is hard to accept that my daughter will get pregnant but i guess it is also hard for my daughter that she is experiencing a too early pregnancy and the best thing i could is to understand her and plans for her best. if ever she will do again prenant repeatedly well i dont want to support her doings.

I actually expect to get a call about this someday only because my daughter is only 16 and ran away because she didn't like the rules at school . We know where she is but we are not allowed to do anything about it because she says she doesn't like us ( actually she says she hates us ) . She figures she is old enough to make her own decisions and that if sleeping around is what she wants to do there is no way we can stop her, and so this is what she is doing . We last heard she had slept with an odler menatlly challenged person just because she wanted to .
I know she is going to get herself in trouble and I don't know how I am going to respond . Right now her getting pregnant is the least of my worries as I am afraid something serious is going to happen to her .
I love my daughter with all my heart but honestly after all she has done to us and believe me she has done a lot . I don't know what we would do if she ever came back home to tell us she was pregnant . We have other children to think about and she has hurt them really bad with her actions .

When my daughter got pregnant at nineteen I was thrilled, but there was a reason for my joy. She has a condition called endometriosis that at this point has done damage to her tubes and getting pregnant again may be very difficult for her.
Otherwise, she is a great mother and hopefully she and her husband will be able to have another baby. If not, I'll be thankful for the one grandchild I do have.
In contrast I was a single mother with this daughter. My mother was pretty cruel to me. I wouldn't let my daughter go through something like I did.

I have always told myself I would support my daughter all the way. I have never said anything out loud for fear of jinxing myself or something. But if it meant I adopted that child and became its mother, I would do it. Obviously I hope my girls will wait until they are mature enough to make the decision to become sexually to do that. Of course we all hope they would wait until marriage but these days that can be an unrealistic thought.

I know what my sister went through with my parents when she got pregnant at 18 (that is a whole different generation as she is 56 years old), and a generation later I was pregnant and alone but I was 29 years old and had a good job. I managed on my own and my parents supported me.

My children are a part of me. They grew inside me. I love them unconditionally. I just hope I have raised them well enough that they make the right decisions.

I defenetly reacts because we in our home mainly thinks about the status in our relatives when it was known to our relatives it may get problem at last i will try to solve the problem by made marry with that person

Another JUNO episode! Actually, that movie basically opened up some people's eyes on how to deal with teenage pregnancy.

Of course, parents' reaction will be either in SHOCK or ENRAGE! Not that we know it happens frequently, but it happens in the family, it is quite a scenario that you'll find yourself in disbelief! But proliferations of informations have helped us to deal with this. The last thing that a teenager would want to hear from their parents is 'GET OUT!' The poor kid is in turmoil emotionally and the last thing you want to know is she had an abortion and had a complication or killed herself or something.

I reckon when faced with this, parents just have to accept the fact and give all the support she will need... for the baby she is carrying!

I know it sounds hard but i would try to react in a sensible manner. Reacting harshly would not be good for me and my daughters relationship and also would not be good for her in her condition.

I would make sure she was going to the doctor regularly. I would let it be her choice to keep or give it up for adoption. I would encourage her to keep it and to give her all of my support.

I would make her get a part time job (just in the beginning of her pregnancy. I would make sure she notify the father and make sure that he is either helping her take care of the child or paying child support.

Overall i would just be supportive and there for her.
