Are You A Pepper Popper?

I love spicey food. Not it is not hurting you. There has actually been research that it helps with arthitis and raises your metabolism. I began eating peppers when I was about 7 years old at the football games with my papaw. I have not stopped I buy half gallon jars of japs every 2 week.

I eat hot peppers and chile powder on darn near everything. It really adds flavor and taste. It took me awhile to be able to eat the hot stuff but it grew more and more tolerable with each try. After awhile I was eating with the best of them. I have read that the ingredients of hot peppers is actually good for you and will give an immunity to some things. Based on this and the fact I have never been able to find anything contrary or bad to say about hot stuff I would have to say that you are not hurtig yourself in any way and in fact are improving your health some.

If hot peppers and sauces were harmful, I would have died years ago. I don't really know exactly how I got started eating the hot stuff, but I am pretty sure that watching that cooking show with Justin Wilson, combined with going to a mexican restaurant for the first few times had something to do with it. Even now, it is not uncommon for me to get tears in my eyes or break out into a sweat when eating salsa or peppers.

I am not saying to eat habanero peppers or those novelty type "hottest sauce in the world" stuff every day, but I eat hot peppers and hot sauce all the time. I eat salsa dip and stuff like that regularly, and I eat "texas pete" on just about anything. Aside from heartburn or the farts now and then, I have no trouble with it. On rare occasions, if I eat to much of it, I will get the craps, but that is about it.

I am also not saying to go out today and get a bottle of hot sauce or bag of peppers and start eating them on everything all at once. Try that and you will have to miss work after a couple of days, but starting out eating it a little at the time is not going to hurt. I have heard that it is actually good for your heart and it lowers cholesterol and stuff too. There are pills in the pharmacy that are pretty much nothing but cayenne pepper stuff. You can find them next to the garlic pills and things like that. Now, I am no scientist, but if they put cayenne in a pill and put it next the the garlic and other supplements in the drug stores, I would think there HAS to be some sort of medical benefit from eating hot stuff...
