 i have my latest digital camera model Kodak easy share Z885. i seldom used it, until the latter time come my LCD crack.. and that gives me headache right now because here in the Philippines it's seldom find such model like this. i have been roaming around canvassing, the technician always tells me they don't have such available LCD for my cam, and if there is it's too very expensive. it will cost you 3,000.00 pesos - $65.22 in dollars to 4,000.00- $86.95 dollars for the LCD only excluding the technician fee which it races to 800.00 pesos - $17.39 dollars to 1,500.00 pesos - $32.60 dollars. very expensive isn't? until now im still looking and continue canvassing for my digital camera so that i could used it again. i am not satisfied really disappointed.
what about you? please share your thoughts or any ideas... if you happen to know any service center or any digital technician that can resolve my problem, please share it with me...

As for me, I have an Olympus SW1030, shockproof and waterproof. If I get a crack in my LCD, it would be most likely under warranty.

| 3. rakittera (278) | 2 months ago |  I was on the same situation last year with my Panasonic Lumix F70 camera. There was a leak on the LCD and it was still under warranty when that happened. We brought the camera to the Panasonic service center and they said they cannot replace the LCD for free because it was mishandled. I said how can that be, we had the camera inside a protective case and we never dropped it. It doesn't have a crack, the liquid inside the LCD leaked. How can they say it was mishandled? I was fuming mad but we ended paying for the d*mn LCD for 3,500 pesos! It was a choice between us paying the 3,500 LCD or never being ble to use a 20k+ worth of digital camera. So, we chose to just pay the damage even if we didn't cause it.

| 4. feris0604 (285) | 2 months ago |  I live in Malaysia and the cost of fixing Kodak Easyshare cameras are not cheap either. I dropped my Kodak Easyshare camera last year(luckily it was still under warranty) and sent it back to the vendor. The vendor had it sent back to the 'factory' for repair.
About 8 months later, I was given a newer model as replacement. I was charge RM50.00 as the service charge. I demanded a reason before I accepted the gadget. Yhey told me my that water had caused short circuit in my previous camera. I should be happy that they are kind enough to replace me a newer brand! Actually, I believe the technicians of the company did not even check what happened to my previous camera!
Of course, I guess, you could ask for a replacement of another camera. You will have to pay the service charge whether or not the company do anything for you!
