Can Cellphones can cause cancer?...what do you say?

Never heard of someone who got cancer from using cellphone yet but I guess it is. The radiation of the cellphone when you are not using headsets might have cause this. You'll see the phone getting heater and heater when we are talking a couple of minutes. The heat radiation that comes from the cellphone is enough to cook an egg. That's what causing it to be dangerous. Imagine if this heat radiation penetrates into your brain, what might have happen to you? Try it, an egg in between two cellphones, then try to make a call, one cellphone is the receiver and one is the initiator of the call. After 15 minutes I guess, check on the egg, you'll see its cooked.

yes, cellphones can cause cancer i heard about it. You see i heard that someone1 on a t.v. show said his wife got brain cancer from using cellphones. You see its from "extreme exposure from radiofrequency radiation emitted by a hand-held celluar phones cause cancer". It has genotoxic effect that damages directly to the DNA. It cause cancer to most likely happen to you while not damaging genitic material. So its alright to use cellphones but not to much in a single day.

I don't know if they can cause cancer, but they do have a negative effect on the body.
Cell phones give off an un-natural electromagnetic energy charge just when it's turned on. Plus, they also are drawing a signal from the closest cell phone tower, so I would have to believe that they have a negative effect.
Exactly what the negative is, remains to be seen, but I try to turn off my cell phone as often as possible and always have it in my purse and far away from me at work.
Better safe than sorry, besides, how many people would want a cell phone tower to be built a block or two from their home? If you're like me and wouldn't be happy about it, why?

Hi Tirtha9, I read somewhere cell phones icrease the risk of brain tumour but i never heard one effected cancer or brain tumour by using cellphones. studies says Cell phones radiofrequency energy is harmful to health. The debate is going on.

Well my friend I do believe in this.Researchers in Australia have reported one of the first scientific hypotheses that normal mobile phone use can lead to cancer. The research group, lead by radiation expert Dr Peter French, principal scientific officer at the Center for Immunology Research at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, said that mobile phone frequencies well below current safety levels could stress cells in a way that has been shown to increased susceptibility to cancer.

The paper, published in the June issue of the science journal Differentiation, says that repeated exposure to mobile phone radiation acts as a repetitive stress, leading to continuous manufacture of heat shock proteins within cells.

Heat shock proteins are always present in cells at a low level, but are manufactured in larger amounts when the cell is stressed by heat or other environmental factors. They repair other proteins that are adversely affected by the conditions, and are part of the cell's normal reaction to stress. However, if they are produced too often or for too long, they are known to initiate cancer and increase resistance to anti-cancer drugs.

Another thing I want to share that if we talk through our left ear,then radiations will not effect our body.But hearing from right ear can cause cancer.

me too don't know who to believe over this one. it semes that we don't have conclusive facts to say that the mobile phone or known as cell phone in my country as cancerous or emit radiation that is harmful to health. but me too i believe that it is better to be safe than sorry. cause if we will wait for the proofs, it could be too late to protect ourselves from the effects of the radiation after using it for years. but i don't use mobile phones anyways for calls at all. i just use it for texting and i don't text that much too. i just it for important or very important things. and so i think that it will not going to affect me a lot. about riding on bus i don't really go out that much and mostly people now don't use their mobile that much as when this mobile phoens where starting to be popular. and they don't like it to use it on public transportation here cause people here are afraid of having their mobile phones being natched from them while they are using it. cause there are many incidents of snatching of mobile phones hwile using it in public transportations like buses.

This was interesting information. I am going to forward this discussion to my son aged 20 years. He was diagonised with Hodgkins disease (lymph nodes) last year. the docs said that it was not proved and so my son who uses his cellphone a lot, just continued with it. I'm not blaming the doc, he treated him very well and I owe him. He just does not know my son's habit. He is okay now, but prevention is better than cure, isn't it? Thank you once again.

This is true. It was already proven in a German study that cellphones causes brain cancer. And they advised people to use headsets or wireless connections when using their phones.

Interesting, I also heard on the radio that scientists conducted a study that proved that celphones can also cause impotence. Men who usually put their celphones in their pockets, near their manhood, have decreased sperm activity.

They advise people to place their celphones in their bags.

I suppose it does if you are susceptible, and it does make using a cell phone more expensive since even with the prepaid phones, the headsets are not cheap especially if you want one that protects one from radiation. The ones I have looked at are over fifty dollars and more like close to one hundred and twenty dollars. Then using the speaking phone ensures that your conversation is no longer private.
So most put the cell phone near their heads. The trouble is that the cell phone was in great use and this early study was never incorporated into the tests and now they tell us later? Now people who never had a cell phone because they were not important enough to have them before are now using them. I will have to look for a headset now, so I can finally use my cell phone for more than taking pictures.
