Is it okay for pregnant woment to drink beverages with caffeine? |
|
I've heard this information before that pregnant women aren't supposed to drink sodas high in caffeine. I'm working on having a baby and I don't know whether I'm pregnant or not but I just can't keep myself from coke or coffee. Your help will be very valuable for me. Thanks a lot.

1. Sillychick (1890) | 2 months ago | There are lots of differing opinions about this. My doctor told me to limit caffeine to no more than 2 servings per day. That includes all sources, the main ones being coffee, soda and chocolate. But there may be other sources in your diet, so be careful. I switched to half caff coffee and limited myself to about one soda a week. However, before you do anything, you really should ask your doctor. When in doubt, less caffeine is better.

3. missybear (828) | 2 months ago | I never had a baby, but i also never heard that caffeine was bad, Maybe if you had 5 or 6 cups of coffee or sodas. A couple here or there won't hurt you. By the way" I love your avatar" it's so cute.

4. scarlet2000 (943) | 2 months ago | I don't think it's okay for a pregnant woman to drink caffeine. I quit drinking caffeine when I was pregnant. I still drink caffeine free tea and soda. Caffeine is very bad for a baby. I have a friend who has a granddaughter who had caffeine withdrawals when she was born. The mother drank dr. pepper during her entire pregnancy and it was very bad for the baby when she was born.

| 6. mykidsmom (15) | 2 months ago | YOu should limit it. One coke a day is not going to hurt anything. I have read that it is VERY important to be careful in your first trimester. Too much caffiene can cause a miscarriage. If you can stay away then I would.
