Which is worse: Life imprisonment or Death Penalty?  |

 Just a stupid question over here: If you were found guilty of a heinous crime, and you could choose between life imprisonment and death penalty, which would you rather choose?
For life imprisonment, you'll live your whole life in a very small cell shared by more than 30 other prisoners. Imagine how you would sleep. There's not even proper ventilation which could make you feel like your dying slowly. There's only one small toilet. Some inmates have communicable diseases ignored by the authorities. You eat but the food couldn't be eaten even by your neighbor's dog. At times, there would be riot and the like. But you still have a chance to get your life back in the future. Would you choose this?
For death penalty, you'll die swiftly and cleanly, as three chemicals would be introduced into your bloodstream. The first drug would knock you out, the second would suppress your breathing, and the last would stop your heart--in no more than five minutes! No more suffering, but you will never have a chance to get your life back. Would you choose this?

So I think most people will choose life. Myself I'd have to know what the crime was.

In our prisons, they are rarely more than 2 to a cell and they eat better than the average American. They have access to exercise, education and recreation. That's why they fight so hard with legal appeals to live.

In prison for LIFE, a coward would die a million deaths.
In my mind, I would ask, "Am I a coward or a hero (if only to myself)?"
I would realize that I MUST die sometime. Why not now, and avoid the hell
