Does music help you absorb what you are studying?

i always need music to do anything...but its an addiction that i need to break. when i do homework while listenig to music it takes me like twice as long as it would withoout music.music does make me more relaxed tho...i guess the focus thing is just a part of your personallity. i cant use a computer without listening to my music either...music owns!!!

I have to say music helps me in absorbing the things I study. I tend to relate the topic where I am at to the music being played at the very moment. So, I guess, it helps but then there are different strokes for different folks.

it depends .
if it's a soft song, it may helps .
but if it's a rock or rap, it just get the way,
i will not read my bok at all and just lisning to the music,
maybe i will even move my body witn the song.

Study with music is really fun:), I love hear soft music play behind at very low volume, it keeps me refreshed. Music makes me feel I am not alone and have some company with me at studies lolz. Even better I don't feel sleepy and tired while studying when music is played in the background. I don't know weather I absorb better when I am studying with music in the background, but it certainly helps me study for a longer lengths of time:)

I like to listen to music very much and it's with me almost all day long. But during my studing I didn't listen to music. Every time I tried to prepare for my exams with music I caught myself singing the song I was listening and not learning rules. I couldn't concentrate with music. The same with reading: I prefer to read in a silence. But I love to listen to music before falling asleep. It helps me to relax.

Yes, for me music helps to absorb what I am studying. I like listening to any music, while I am doing anything. Just like listening to music while surfing the internet, and even going to bed I can't sleep without listening to music until I fall asleep and wake up with it. Music is my best company when I am alone as well, specially when I am stressed with something it helps it eases it.
