Disappointed

Well, you did post your cards in the internet. unless you make a privacy out of that card, they will criticize it too much. you must be open to suggestions and criticisms.otherwise, you might even get criticized with years to come. just keep on doing it and enjoy.

Don't be too disheartened Donna. It is important to take criticism when it is constructive, if the person is telling you that your cards are "lacklustre" then they should also be telling you why and how they think you might be able to change them for the better, otherwise it's unjustified and - depending on the context - just a bit nasty! If you can't afford to develop your photographs to scan them, could you not take them on a digital camera and put them on the computer via the USB cable? Keep up the work on the cards, i'm sure they are lovely!! xxx

You know what they say Donna...everyone's a critic. I personally, would never be so rude as to do that to someone's work. My mom used to say, if you can't say anything nice, then don't say nothing at all. Some people I guess don't share that sentiment. Don't let it discourage you. You keep doing what you're doing, the way you want to do it. I've heard some say things about other's work also. Etsy is a place for all types of crafters at all types of skill levels. Those that are more "professional" may look down on others who are not as skilled as they are at taking pictures or writing descriptions. I stink at both those things. I do the best I can and if someone doesn't like it, they are always free to hit the back button. Keep going girl, there is a buyer for everything on the internet. Good Luck to you!

Cards are really rough to photograph, and they're hard to sell on Etsy, in my opinion. There are a lot of folks selling them there, and a lot of people aren't willing to pay the prices for a handmade card plus shipping.

As for the photography issue on a greater scale, it really is worth it to buy a digital camera, simply so that you don't have to go and develop your film whenever you need new photos. It might seem like a big investment at first, but it really does pay off in the end!
