Dry skin

well mine was doing the same thing i started using this hand cream with green tea in it and my is ok now.i got mine from avon it is green tea with rice in it but it is good .

I have had to do this for my feet and hands. I have found that it isn't any one type of lotion any of them that say moiturizing seems to work. At night I really coat my hands and feet with the lotion then put on some gloves and socks and in the morning my hands and feet are in great shape. I also keep lotion at every sink and when ever I wash my hands I follow with lotion.

i have dry skin. either Gold Bond or Cetephil would work out good. i personally use cetephil. the cream that comes in the jar. its bout $10, but it lasts for a long time. its think and spreads nicely, you only need a little too. he could also try those mosture sprays where you spray it on you body parts. i got a sample bottle and tried it on my husband when his hands were cracking. he said they felt really good after words. thats like a quick fix type thing.

I have ecezma on my hands, which causes them to be dry and crack and even bleed sometimes. The best thing (other than my perscription cream) is to coat the skin with petrolium jelly (aka vaseline) and put on cotton gloves for several hours or while you are sleeping. The jelly creates a barrier that keeps the skin's moisture in.
Many lotions have some type of alcohol in them, which can dry hands further, so be sure to read the ingredients; the closer an ingredient is to the top of the list, the more of it there is in the lotion. Things with a petrolium, wax or oil base are best at keeping moisture in.

I have dry skin also and its gets worse during winter season. When I use lotions on my hands it just hurts all the time, and its gets really reddish. The one I use now I see a big difference, not only it feels good on my skin it just doesn't hurt at all. It's a April Bath & Shower. It's called "Age Defying" with Antioxidant Blend of Vitamins Moisturizer. It also helps diminish signs of natural aging.

Camille Beckman is the best lotion I have found for dry cracking skin although I wish they made a unscented version. Another thing that works well is to coat your hands in vaseline and then cover with socks right as you are going to bed. It sits there all night and really moisterizes deep! Also, stay well hydrated.

Gold Bond is great on hands or feet, but Vaseline Intenstive Care is also a good lotion to use. It is very effective.

Honestly, I use my pregnancy 'belly butter' for all dry skin issues. It's a combination of vitamin E, almond oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and lots of good herbal extracts for speedy healing. It's rather hard but once it has contact with warm skin it heats up and melts nicely. I find regular 'lotions' don't work as well for me as oils.
