Improving the human condition is fine and good, but current leftist ideas have failed at doing so.

Have you ever talked to people? I don't trust people to govern themselves... some people don't have the capacity, others lack interest, but in the end not all people are equipped to answer the tougher questions of a social contract. And that's ok, they should be busy creating.

I think people should do what they do, and be who they are. If they are everyone, one might say they are no one. So let the leaders lead, and the teachers teach.

I think it's fair to set up a system in which the leaders lead, and not the business men, mind you. But that's no being leftist. Leftism is the idea that everyone wants the same thing, and are willing to help each other get it. That idea is incorrect.

Government is here to protect its citizens from each other... anything else is a violation of our natural rights, in my opinion.

Where the democrats require taxes to feed the hungry, I amass wealth to give those same hungry jobs with which they can earn the money for the food themselves. Where communism requires nothing but obedience, I demand more from my life than merely being comfortable.

Struggle is the human condition, inseparable from our creative abilities, and those which allow us to extrapolate the future. We need to reach goals simply by virtue of being aware of those goals... but it's an individual thing. One who believes that the struggle is the same for all is one who's perception is limited by either ignorance, or hubris. Or perhaps both.
