 Do you answer any and all of a friends discussions? I have noticed people here on myLot talking about taking someone off their friends list for not responding to a dicsussion.
Since I choose not to give one line answers, I would rather talk in depth about something I don't respond to anything unless I have something interesting to add to a discussion. Does this make me a bad friend or mylotter? There have been days I have come on here and only answered one or two discussions because I didn't feel that I could add anything interesting to a discussion.

I don't think our friends should get upset with us if we don't respond to some of their discussions. If it something that I'm not familiar with or don't care to discuss, I won't respond.

I wouldn't hold it against anyone if they didn't respond to one of my discussions. I don't think they should feel obligated to respond to something they don't have much to say in. | |

| 3. desertdarlene (5730) | 2 years ago |  I agree with Elkhawk, it's impossible to answer ALL of your friends discussions. I just can't answer anything I don't have an answer on. It's not fair to the friend, either, to post an "I don't know" answer and it's against Mylot's guidelines. And, I don't expect my friends to answer all of mine, either.
A lot of people seem to have the idea that you must answer all of your friends discussions. If they stick to that idea, then they're going to be unhappy. The purpose of having friends here is that they're a ready source of fresh discussions. And, it's always good to have friends.

That way not only is it a better quality post, but it brings more to a discussion. I think it is better to have a well rounded discussion rather than a discussion with a lot of posts that really aren't interesting. | |

| 4. dana234 (1333) | 2 years ago |  I answer a lot of my friends discussions, but not all of them. When I respond I want to contribute in a positive way to the discussion. If I can´t relate to the topic or can´t think of anything to say, I don´t reply.
What people mean when they say that they are going to take some members of their friends list, they mean members that "never" respond to any of their posts.
So, don´t worry you´re not a bad friend.

What if for instance something happened and a friend had to be away for an extended period of time. Would you feel bad later knowing that they couldn't be there and you still deleted them? | 5. ackars (1901) | 2 years ago |  I usually answer to the good discussions(usually the discussions they start on my area of interests)...I dont think we should take someone off the friends list just because they are not reponding to any of your discussions.There may be many reasons for it...Like,
1)They have too many friends to deal with(one of my friend have more than 600) so that they wont have to time to respond to yours.
2)Thay may be out of Mylot for sometime because of some reasons during which they will not put any responses.
3)Your discussions may not be coming in that persons interest area(I usually answer to discussions from my interest even in my friends' case)
4)Your discussion may not be imfluencing them(they think this is not up to the mark to put a response on)
5)They just ignoring you because you are not responding to any of their discussions.
6)Thay just dont care about what ever you put in.
The last chance is very rare..I think the first three must be the ones which creates all these problems...what do you think?

I think theonly reaosn i would rerove someone from my friends list would be if something happened that we didn't agree on some things and it got to the point where it became a real problem. I do check my friends postings to see if there is anything there that I can add something interesting to. If there isn't then I don't post on them. | |

Sometimes, I delete them if their views are extremely opposed to mine, but not always. I don't really delete them if they don't visit the site that often or don't start new discussions. | |

I do try with the friends that I have to answer some, but like you, only if I have something to add or is interesint or could be helpful or useful.
