I heard this 45 teary year old man so distraught and feeling his life is over about the forthcoming divorce. Married for 14 years and they have a 10 year old son. He doesn't want the divorce as he worries about the emotional effect it will have on his son. His hysterical, worries and cry 24/7 about losing time and touch with his son, having another man involved in raising him etc. He said to his wife to preserve the marriage and think of their son and stop her selfish needs.

My friend is getting divorced after almost 25 years of marriage. She is in doom and gloom and I've been trying to talk her out of being suicidal. His reason to her: 'YOU TOOK MY MANHOOD AWAY!' She doesn't know what he meant by that, neither do I have a clue. Can anyone please explain why a man would say that or what he meant by that?

What else can I say to this friend of mine? She has been here in Canada for 3 years with her son. What used to be ideal relationship turned out a disaster overtime. There has been animosity between her teenage son (14) and his step-father and she found herself in between them and she's the one getting the husband's grunts all the time. Of course, they bought a house, he got her to sign for the mortgage too, and now they owe the bank $500K++ plus credit cards etc.

In front of others as an advice, 'Don't ever get married!' or tells her 'I think we are better of living separately!'and after awhile they both cry and make-up and do and say the same baloney again! DOH! Isn't that enough clue that their relationship is going down the drain? I really want to tell her to bang her head on the walls to wake her up and make some sense of it all, but of course, she's still dilly-dallying, really, I don't want to give her advice and would rather listen and let her decide for herself because she and her hubby are good friends of ours!
