Aqua Mermaid

I just found this and thought it was so pretty. I like the fact it is all the one color, not black and white or multi colored. Just Aqua.! Do you think the legend of mermaids is due to the fact that sailors would be at sea for so long, overworked and underfed, their senses must have been put to the absolute maximum at times. Could this have caused some sort of halucinations;a mix of actual fish and their desire for female companionship.? Or....... do you beleive they once existed.?
