Technology ate my parents

The Veldt short story dealt with family relationship in the future. It is not another story with good ending but it shows the effects of parents abandonment of their responsibility in rearing their kids and not letting technology to do the babysitting. I reckon it's not far off that this things could happen when most of the kids today are wrapped on TV, video games, internet etc.
