Makoto, a Japanese photographer, comes to a secret base in the middle of the desert, Area 88. Pilots fly lots of missions out of the base, making mone while putting their lives on the line. One of the pilots, Shin, who is also of Japanese origin, catches the interest of Makoto... why does he risk his life for a country that isn`t even his?As Makoto remarks, he finds it interesting that two people with the same written name, just pronounced different ways, can walk such different paths. Ninja Resurrection follows the adventures of a young Jubei Yugyu on special assignment to the General of the Toyotomi clan. The volume begins with the introduction of Christianity in feudal Japan and how a young boy becomes the next Saviour. After being ousted for his religion, he continues to deliver his teachings to the world and eventually builds up a large following. Religious wars and persecution follow. Thus enters Jubei and his small group - sent to assassinate him since he is safely tucked away behind his fortress.

Muramasa

Hyakkimaru a paper cutout artist is a die-hard fan of Tezuka Osamu. He declined all other offers to take part in this short animation project. The story is about a haunted sword called "muramasa," which was found stuck in a wara-ningyo (straw figure). The Samurai who obtained it cut at wara-ningyo every time he found any in order to test the sharpness of the sword. But whenever he cuts, the figures immediately turn into humans. The story symbolizes a warning to protect the current state of peace that rests solely on nuclear deterrence.
