| The Indian Ocean off the East Coast of Southern Af | This picture is taken at a place called Uvongo on the South Coast of South Africa, KwaZulu Natal (as it is still known - so far). I grew up on this coast and love the rugged wilderness of the sea as it pounds the shoreline. It is a wild and dangerous ocean, but it does also possess a certain beauty.
Have you ever swum in the Indian Ocean like I have?Violetdreams

| Durban Harbour | This is Durban Harbour. Durban, South Africa is where I grew and and although I live in the UK now, I do still miss the informality and familiarity of Durban. I think I always will.
Do you have any photos of where you grew up?Violetdreams

| Neil Douglas McKenzie | McKenzie made his maiden Test hundred against New Zealand in 2000-01. Another century soon came, against Sri Lanka at Supersport Park but it would be his last (to date). From there on in he couldn't convert his 12 50's into hundreds although he came close when he was run out by Damien Martyn for 99. After a series of low scores was dropped from the side. After showing excellent form in domestic cricket, three and a half years later he was again recalled to the South African Test squad for the second Test against the West Indies at Newlands. Opening the innings, McKenzie scored 23 before a torn calf muscle meant he was unable to bat in the second innings and would miss the third Test of the series. A further development as a result of his recall was that Somerset announced that it was unlikely that McKenzie would return to the club for the 2008 season, having played in 2007 as a Kolpak player. During a test against Bangladesh begun on February 29, 2008, McKenzie hit a world record 1st wicket partnership of 415 with Graeme Smith. | |
